Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get started?

The first step is to set some time to meet or talk on the phone.  Second, is opening accounts with our custodian Scottrade.  We have all the forms to open the accounts.  Third, you sign our investment management agreement allowing us to make investment decisions for you.  Fourth, you would complete our investor questionnaire. Last step is for us to build your portfolio and implement our plan.

What is the minimum initial investment?
The minimum initial investment is $100,000. Once invested with us, if the account goes below $100,000 – no problem. There are no additional fees or changes to your account if below $100,000.

Who holds the money?

Scottrade is the custodian of all client money and will hold your accounts.

Who controls my accounts?

The Scottrade accounts are yours and you control them.  You grant us the authority to make investment decisions and instruct Scottrade, through a Scottrade Limited Power of Attorney, to follow our trading instructions.

What kind of reports will I receive?

From Scottrade you will receive monthly statements for your accounts, transactions confirmations any time we buy or sell in your account, and tax statements at year end.  From Sustainable Investment Strategies you will receive a quarterly performance report package containing a performance report, a breakdown of current holdings, and brief portfolio and market update.

Can I access my account online?

Yes.  You can view your accounts on Scottrade’s website.

Who will make investment decisions for my account?

All investment and portfolio decisions are made by Henry L. Becker, Jr.,  CFP®, President of ETF Global Portfolio Solutions.  Henry has over 14 years of experience in the financial services industry and is well versed in ETF based portfolio management.

Do you charge and initial consultation fee?

No.  We never charge a fee for meetings.  The initial consultation meeting is meant to determine if we would be a good fit for one another.

How often will I hear from someone regarding my accounts?

At least quarterly.  All accounts are reviewed quarterly and clients are contacted either by phone, email or face to face meeting.  The type of contact we will have is dependent on your location and how you wish to communicate.  Our desire is to at least conduct one face to face annual review meeting or annual review phone call if you re not local.
